There has got to be a book in this for me. Well I guess I'll start with this. I have been working on my family tree for the last 3 years. I have yet to find the end but,I'll linger on the middle U.S. history portion. For the most part I'm native Virginian and as a southerner I have opinions on how things were in those days I highly disagree on the idea of slavery and wish it had never happened the way it did.There were lives that depended on slave labor in those days and there were white slaves(INDENTURED SERVENTS) as they were called as well as black slaves.Not all black people were slaves as many would have you think, some were poor people trying to scatch out a living out like most others in those days. When the county of Pulaski was formed in 1839 a seedling from Montgomery and Wythe counties a history was born and would continue to grow into the 21st century. My Pulaski roots begin with a man by the name of Samuel Cole and Francis Allison Sr.The son's of these two men would begin adulthood in the bloodiest conflict this country has ever taken part in .They would both be changed forever and would endeaver to be assets to their communty
